In Pulaar society, it’s not polite to give orders to your elders. Also the notion of expressing the word “please” is not usually translated; but people can feel it by the intonation of the speaker or the verb ending. e.g: Pass me the bench “ Jonnan jullere nden” Could you pass me the bench, please “ Jonn – in jullere nden, accaa hake (Jonnii lan = Jonn – in)
